Rain rain go away…

As beautiful as Nappanee weather was, we drove through pouring rain all day today. Johnny navigated around Chicago successfully then on through Madison WI, quick rest stop to run 🏃 and have a pit stop for pups and on toward Eau Claire, WI. Boring day all in all but got us about 2 1/2 hours away from Duluth, MN our first planned stay for a few days. We are delighted to be in the Hixton KOA tonight, our hosts, Debbie and John Bierbach placed us in a perfect spot high up next to walking trails and a beautiful view, complete w resident kitty…love the wild flowers 💐 still hanging on in fall! We managed an entire dinner with the inside kitchen, and iron skillet with limited ingredients from the fridge and freezer. Sam is enjoying his after dinner stogie!

For our coach camping friends, we are glad to report cousin Eddie has learned how to adequately dispose of black and gray 💦 yay!

Amish, Newmar and Nappanee

“A happy home is more than just a roof over your head, it’s a foundation under your feet”  …. Amish Proverb

Spent most of the day walking the 50 acres of Newmar land, pictures all taken from our day on foot while our Bay Star was with the service technician. Luckily, it was beautiful weather in Nappanee and all Leggs appreciated the 20k steps!

We are nestled in between some giant coaches tonight at the Newmar camp. We plan on heading out early to get through Chicago and half way to Duluth.

Sweet dreams 😴

Open Road Day 2

Three cheers to Lowe’s in Maysville, KY! Big rains made our Kentucky clan driveways dicey for the Newmar, so Johnny Denham and Kirk Clarke called the manager and got us a great parking spot for the night. Awesome green space for morning walk, see our bovine neighbors next door. Clarke/Denham cousins treated us to a night at Cap’s on the riverfront. Loved seeing Kirk, Christie, Jim, Mary V, Fran, Johnny D, Tom, Barb, Bob and Cheryl who popped in just see us. We missed our buddy, George Cluney who hosted a dinner at Cap’s a few weeks ago and brought his new twins home to to see his mom and dad. Oh well, next time George!

Lowe’s parking lot slept like a lamb, peaceful, cool, Kentucky fall evening. Now on to Nappanee, IND. Pups already Nappanee…

Cheers from the road! Make it a great day!😀

Let the journey begin

Captain has us on the road…had a brief set back with the LP gas alarm fuse. Quick call to Newmar CS and we set out. Sammy Sam isn’t sure about all this, Daisy is already zonked! Next stop Maysville, KY to rendezvous w Clarke cousins. Going to Cap’s tonight!🍾

Thanks to all of our wonderful prayer angels, friends and family for the support and love cheering onto the road! Praying now for a little sleep….. 🙂

About Dos Leggos

Greetings and salutations from Neill and Johnny Legg! Dos Leggos is our whimsical play on words for two Leggs, two dogs, taking one wild wonderful ride across America.  Riding shotgun with us are Sam and Daisy, because what’s a cross country adventure without your dogs!  We are creating this blog as a fun way to share our travel experience with friends and family. Cheers from the open road!
